Galazar the Green                                             2021

Anthropomorphic sculpture for 3D design class. Modeled with polymer clay. Color applied with acrylic paint.

This was the first logo I designed that was conceptualized in my sketchbook and brought to life in Adobe Illustrator. 

Modular Lamp                                                 2021

A+B+C modular design. This lamp is made of over 500 acrylic crystals.

Wire Guitarfish                                                2021

This sculpture of a guitarfish is made from solid core electrical wire and steel picture framing wire. It was spray painted bronze. Bolts were installed for eyes. 

A Lesson in Color                                             2021

I had never worked with color pencils until this project. The shading could only be done with complimentary colors. The paper was toned with ink wash. It was nice to put into action all of the skills I had learned up until that point.

Chiaroscuro                                                         2021

The view from my son's bedroom looking down the hallway. The paper was toned with charcoal powder. Values were created with erasers and refined with charcoal pencil.

Grandma's Piano                                               2021

20 minute gesture drawing in pen. Learning and embracing gesture drawing has liberated my art immensely. Perfection is overrated. 

The Falling City of Ishvalen                             2021

This a collage dipiction of the fantasy city of Ishvalen. A great battle has caused the once thriving city in the sky to plummet to its doom. All elements were cut from Heck's Pictorial Archive of Nature and Science (Dover Pictorial Archive, Vol. 3).
